The under-listed applicants have been offered Internship Training by the institution and are expected to report for appointment not later than Friday, 25th of October, 2019 or consider their appointment forfeited.
The Medical Director, Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu has commissioned a cement block making industry as part of the activities marking his 100 days in office.
Speaking at the event, the Medical Director remarked that the project was part of his vision to look inwardly towards increasing the Internally Generated Fund.
Prof Musa-Olomu said considerations will be given to members of staff who have the dream of owning their houses.
The event was witnessed by members of Hospital Management Committee, the Press and some members of staff.
JUBILANT STAFF CELEBRATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR
It was jubilation galore as Medical Director Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu addressed members of staff as part of the activities making his 100 days in office.
The Medical Director, who was over joyous with the encouraging turn out of staff at the forum assured the staff that he will not let them down in his programmes.
He thanked them for their cooperation and understanding since he assumed office on 10th July, 2017
While answering questions, the Medical Director was optimistic that the coming year will be much better and staff will be much happier.
A new Medical Director has been appointed for the Centre, he is Prof Adewale Abdul-Samiu Musa.
Prof Musa’s appointment along with 13 other Chief executives of Federal Medical Centres and Teaching Hospitals was contained in an approval letter from the Office of the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo. The new Medical Director will be taking over from Dr. Kehinde Isaac Hunyinbo who had been steering the ship of the Centre since 20th June, 2016 when the eight year tenure of the immediate past Medical Director, Dr.Oladapo Sunday Sotiloye ended.
Prof Musa was born to the family of late Alhaji and Alhaja Imam Musa of Ile- Olomu compound, Ijaiye, Abeokuta.
He attended both Nawair-ud-deen Primary and Secondary school- the former at Oke-Ijeun and the latter at Obantoko in Odeda local Government area of Ogun State. Prof Musa later attended Ogun State Polytechnic, Abeokuta (now MAUTECH) for his Higher School Certificate.
In his quest for further studies, Prof Musa proceeded to study Medicine at the University of Ibadan and obtained MBBS degree in Medicine. He had his Residency training in General Surgery at University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan and obtained the prestigious fellowship certificate of West African College of Surgeons.
The new Medical Director joined the services of Olabisi Onabanjo University/ Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital in 1999 as a Lecturer I and an Honourary Consultant Surgeon and left for the University of Ilorin in 2009 as a Senior Lecturer.
He joined the services of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in 2009 as an Hospital Consultant Surgeon and on the 26th September, 2011, he later joined the University as an Associate Professor of Surgery and honorary Hospital Consultant.He was elevated to the position of Professor of Surgery in 2014.
Prof Musa has Masters of Science in Anatomy and awaiting PHD in Anatomy at the Olabisi Onabanjo University.
The new Medical Director is a member of many professional organisations among which are West African College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeons, Anatomical Society of Nigeria, International Brain Organizational, Nigerian Medical Association among others.
Professor Adewale Abdul Samiu Musa has Eighty (80) publication to his credit and has published widely in Local, National and International reputable journals.
He has also won many grants and he is currently working on breast cancer in both the Caucasian and black race.
The new Medical Director has travelled widely across the globe and happily married with children.
Officials of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) ABUJA office recently visited the Centre on Needs assessment. The team was led by a senior officer in the scheme, Mr Muhammed Balarabe. The team leader told the Management that the team was in the Centre to explore ways of assisting the hospital with basic equipment that would enhance service delivery. The team was led on an inspection tour of facilities in the Centre, including the NHIS clinic by the Acting Medical Director, Dr K.I Hunyinbo and members of his Management. The newly inaugurated Board of the Hospital Management has commenced its assignment with the pledge to lift up the standard of health care delivery services in the hospital.
The Board, under the Chiarmanship of Alhaji Sanusi Baban Takko (Barayan Bauchi) gave the assurance at the maiden meeting of the Board held in the hospital recently.
The Chairman solicited the support of the entire staff of the hospital in the onerous task of re-positioning and re-engineering the hospital for excellent medicare.
