Administration

The Department of Administration is saddled with the onerous task of ensuring that the administrative machinery of the hospital runs very efficiently to the end of optimal and effective utilization of the human and material resources to actualize the vision and mission of the centre. The department has the largest staff of 156 senior staff and 224 junior staff distributed across several units including

  • Establishment unit
  • Administration, Information and Records Unit (AIRU)
  • Registry Unit
  • Planning Research and Statistics Unit (PRS),
  • Training/Industrial Relations Unit,
  • Pension Unit and
  • Legal Unit.

Services provided

  • Appointment, promotion and discipline of personnel.
  • Management of human, financial and material resources.
  • Maintenance of personnel and hospital records and provision of secretariat services to the centre.

Finance and Supplies

The Department of Finance and Supplies manages the finances of the hospital and keeps record of the hospital assets. Our mission is provision of adequate and efficient accounting records to safeguard the hospital assets and provide sound financial information for management decision making. The department is staffed by 117 senior staff and 45 junior staff. Units in the department are:

  • Cash Office
  • Final Account Unit
  • Reconciliation Unit
  • Salaries Unit
  • NHIS Account Unit
  • Revenue Unit
  • Expenditure Control Unit
  • Resolving Fund Scheme Unit
  • Credits And Advance Unit
  • Tax Management Unit
  • Management Information And Budgeting Unit
  • Stores Section Unit

Internal Audit

The Department of Internal Audit of the hospital is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring that proper books of account are kept in all transactions in the centre. The department provides a complete and continuous audit of the accounts and records of revenue and expenditure, assets, allocated and unallocated stores.  The department is staffed by 23 auditors and 10 supportive clerical and administrative staff and divided into the following units:

  • Payment, salaries and allowances
  • Inspection and stock taking,
  • Revenue monitoring, reconciliation and advances
  • Registry

Works and Maintenance

The Works and Maintenance department has been in existence since the inception of the hospital. It is saddled with the responsibility of maintaining hospital equipment and facilities including buildings and othe infrastructures. The department is made of 147 staff members out of which 48 are senior staff and 99 are junior staff. The department also has specialists including 2 engineers, one builder and 45 technical officers.

Services Provided

  • Provision of engineering and technical support services for the clinical work, maintenance of hospital equipment, buildings, instruments and land-scapping works.
