Our Mission

we are responsible for managing the hospital’s reputation and communication with the public, including patients, families, staff, and the media. This department develops and implements strategies to promote positive relationships between the hospital and its stakeholders, including coordinating community outreach initiatives, handling crisis communications, and managing the hospital’s social media presence.

We also serves as a liaison between the hospital and the media, working to generate positive media coverage and responding to inquiries from journalists. Additionally, this department organize and promote hospital events, such as health fairs and seminars.

Our Story

The department of public relations was formally a Unit and was made a department in June 2016.

The department has a total number of sixty eight (68) staff. The department is saddle with the responsibility of promoting and enhancing mutual understanding among the internal and external public of the hospital through deployment of effective public relations and communications strategies geared towards achieving high level health care services.

What we do

  • Liases with media and relevant
    stakeholders.
  • co-ordinates protocol duties for the
    centre
  • engages in regular Analysis of the
    impact of the hospital policies, procedurs and actions that are mutually beneficial to
    the hospital and publics.
  • Effective management of the corporate
    image of the centre
  • Bridges communication gap between
    the management and the staff.
  • Routin administration of questionnaire
    to patients and Their relations to guage
    level of satisfaction with hospital services.

PROFILE OF THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

 

Mr Segun Orisajo, (HND, BTh, BSc, MSc, ANIPR, MNUJ, JP)

is currently the Centre’s Head of Public Relations and Information department, A versatile Public Relations Practitioner and distinguished Journalist, Mr. Orisajo joined the services of the Centre in 2001 as the pioneer head of Public Relations unit which was then under the department of Administration. Over the years and as a result of his dexterity, commitment and professional expertise, the unit was upgraded to a full department in 2016. Mr. Orisajo had worked with the Vanguard Newspaper as Health Correspondent for six years, The Examiner Newspaper, Lagos as Health Editor and The Comet Newspaper (now The Nation) as the Ogun State Bureau Chief. Mr. Orisajo had his Ordinary Diploma in Mass Communication at the Polytechnic Ibadan with Upper Credit. He thereafter preceded to the Ogun State Polytechnic Abeokuta now (Moshood Abiola Polytechnic) for
