BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
Restorative Dentistry Department was formerly under Dental Services Department. It was created through the effort of the erstwhile HOD of Dental Services, Dr. S.T Ibiyemi and approved by the Hospital Management with effect from 1st September, 2020.
Restorative Dentistry Department involves and Dental process which focuses on restoring damaged or lost Dental tissues.
These include procedures such as:
dentures
fillings
bridges
implants
among many
other
services.
PROFILE OF THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
DR. OBAGBEMIRO KOLAWOLE OLALEKAN
Dr. K. O.Obagbemiro is a Specialist in Prosthetics Dentistry, he is currently a Consultant at Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta. He is a performance- driven individual, with a career history which showcases a flair for mentoring of junior colleagues, as well as a passion for high quality dental service delivery.
Dr. Obagbemiro graduated from St. Charles Grammar School, Osogbo and proceed to obtain his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree at College of Medicine, University of Lagos in the year 2006 and Masters in Public Health in 2013.
He went further to pursue his postgraduate studies in prosthetic dentistry unit of the Restorative Dentistry Department, LUTH and obtained his Fellowship from National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in November 2017.
In year 2013 during his residency program he went on training at Perfect 32 Implant Center in Bangalore, India where he obtained Certificate in Implantology. He has passion for implant dentistry and has successfully placed over 400 implants and published several papers on the field of implant dentistry including international conference presentations in Madrid, Spain, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Poznan, Poland and San Francisco CA, USA. Dr.Obagbemiro is actively involved in the activities of the Nigerian Dental Association and he handed over as the President of Nigerian Dental Association in November, 2022. Dr. Obagbemiro is happily married with children.
