HISTORY OF CHILD ORAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
Department of Child Oral Health was formerly under the umbrella of Dental Services Department. It was created along side other newly created departments by immediate past HOD of Dental Services in person of Dr. S.T Ibiyemi. The creation was approved by the Hospital Management with effect from 1st September, 2020.
Department of Child Oral Health has two units ‘Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. Paediatric Dentistry is responsible for diagnosis and treatment of Oral health disease in children and adolescents including special healthcare children. Orthodontic unit deals with the Management of malocclusion.
Department also trains the Dental Health Technician students that come for industrial attachment in the department. Also involves in training of resident doctors from other departments in the Hospital. The department is involved in giving oral health education to school children.
